Bill Tidy was a British cartoonist, writer and television personality, known chiefly for his comic strips. He stood in for various of the regulars between 1985 and 1991:
Denise Coffey was a diminutive and bubbly comedienne and actress who was in 12 early ISIHAC episodes:
Jo Kendall was in the very first episode of ISIHAC and a further 6 episodes in the first series. She had been a stalwart of ISIRTA with Tim Brooke-Taylor and Bill Oddie, and went on to appear in Emmerdale Farm on TV.
Barry Cryer was the rock on which ISIHAC was founded. He was chairman for 6 episodes of the first series, and hardly missed an episode until his death in January 2022. It is hard to overestimate his contribution over so many years.
Tim Brooke-Taylor was in the first episode of ISIHAC along with Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie from TV's The Goodies. He was in nearly 500 episodes, even more than the great Barry Cryer. Sorely missed.
Iain Pattinson wrote the chairman's script for ISIHAC from 1992 until 2019. He was a master of the double entendre, and his filthy-sounding scripts had the audience in stitches.
Much-loved Jeremy Hardy was a firm favourite with audiences of ISIHAC for many years in 64 different episodes.
Another favourite, taken far too soon, Victoria Wood was only in ISIHAC 6 times, but her performances were memorable:
The heart and soul of ISIHAC, a huge hole was left when "Humph" died. The show might not have survived with anyone else as chairman in the early days. Everyone remembers him with fondness.
Better known for her appearances in The News Quiz than in ISIHAC, Linda Smith was nonetheless many listeners' all-time favourite guest, in four regular episodes and a Christmas pantomime special:
Willie Rushton's contribution to ISIHAC was enormous, he was by far the wittiest contributor for a great many years.
Controversial radio DJ Kenny Everett only guested on ISIHAC twice, but later made his mark with the British public as the star of his own wildly popular TV shows.
